A Thought: 4 July 2013

4 Jul

A few thoughts for today as you enjoy cooking out, playing in the pool, and lighting off fireworks:

1. Be thankful, and honor, those who serve in the military and law enforcement to defend our freedoms and uphold justice in our land.

2. Give thanks to God, for it only out of His sovereign good pleasure that we enjoy the freedom we have, as well as the blessings that come with such freedom.

3. Remember that as Christians we have a greater freedom than that which is celebrated today across the country; we have freedom from slavery to sin, death, and the devil in Christ.  And in union with Christ, we are heirs of all the promises and blessings guaranteed to God’s faithful offspring, and are citizens of a greater Kingdom that will be fully established at the return of our King, Jesus Christ.
