Destino LA: Final Letter

12 Mar

Below is the text from our final letter as staff with Destino LA.  If you would like to read it in PDF, please check out the Destino LA page (listed as March 2012) where each of our letters are archived.

“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good for those who are called according to his purpose. (Rom. 8:28)”

For the past year, we have been casting vision for Destino LA and trusting God to provide the funding necessary for us to minister on the college campus.  During this time, we have had the privilege of getting to know some great people and be a part of what God is doing among Latino college students across the country.  However, in light of our current support level, sensing God’s leading elsewhere, and in wanting to make the best choices as a family, we are pulling off staff with Destino.

Though it is a difficult decision for us to make, we believe that it is the right decision, and trust that our sovereign God will continue to direct us as we make the transition from being on staff with Destino to being invested in the ministry of the local church.  Pray for Tyler as he prepares to take on a role in discipleship and small group ministry at our church, and pray for Christina as she seeks full time employment and opportunities to cultivate cross-cultural relationships.

We want to take this opportunity to thank you for your prayerful support over the past year.  God has been at work, both in our lives personally, and in our ministry.  We have been greatly encouraged by your prayers, and we hope that you have been encouraged by the work God is doing through Campus Crusade for Christ, and Destino in particular.

It is our prayer that God would continue to grow you in His grace and bless you in all that you do.  Please feel free to contact either of us if you have any questions, and please continue to let us know how we can be praying for you.

On Mission,

Tyler Helfers
