Glorifying and Enjoying…

28 May

“For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forth as a propitiation by his own blood, to be received by faith (Rom. 3:22-25)…And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose (Rom. 8:28)…I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord (Rom. 8:38-39)…Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.  For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ (Phil. 3:8-9)…”

Thus, what is man’s purpose?
Man’s purpose is to glorify God, and to enjoy him forever.

How do we do this?
We glorify God by enjoying him forever; the source of this joy being Jesus Christ and the glory of the Gospel of grace!

What does it look like to glorify God by enjoying Him forever?
A life of faith.  A faith that studies, trusts and acts on God’s revelation of Himself and His plan for this world, the Word (Bible).  Through this, we come to know, love, worship, trust and obey the God who has given us life in Christ.  And in knowing, loving, worshipping, trusting and obeying, we find our greatest joy and God is glorified.

It is my hope and prayer that God will use this blog to provoke our minds to deep thinking of the Word of God, the Bible, and stir up our hearts to deep treasuring of the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
